Times of Refreshment

Bible Readings... Acts 3
Highlighted Verse... Acts 3:19-20 - Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.
Thoughts... Peter is using his new found voice to heal the beggar at the Beautiful Gate, preach the Word to the Jews in the temple, and boldly accuse the hearers of having the blood of Christ on their hands. He then ministers to those same hearers by telling them that there is a way out.
How it impressed me... I especially like the reward he proposes for those who would repent... times of refreshment. The way our society is going now, "times of refreshment" seems like a wonderful gift... a gift that could only be bestowed by the Creator who breathed life into man and saw that it was good. I want some of those "times of refreshment" too.
My response to God... Father God, Maker of Heaven and Earth, you have graced us with your son and continued to rain blessings upon us day and night. Open my eyes to the times of refreshment that you have set aside for me.
